My name is Geraldine Sundstrom.
I utilize found, foraged and discarded materials to create works on paper and in fiber.
I am currently participating in an Artist Residency in Motherhood with my 6 year old daughter.
In Residence my work documents domestic labor and breeches themes of boundaries and the self, utilizing the body as a means of making marks. A common visual thread in my work is the continuous line. The line being created or manipulated by my body performing domestic labor.
My past work includes an Artist Residence at Preschool during my time working in childcare and a community project entitled Re(Collect). This project was a free, childcare supported papermaking workshop for mothers which utilized objects of memory to talk about the maternal experience and was funded by a Lane Arts Council Community Project Grant.
